Service through Zion

Zion has several ministry teams serving our community.

Faith Formation: Nurtures the lifelong formation of faith/spiritual development of both the congregation and community. Faith Formation is a transformation process and the context within which we live our lives. We live, share and grow our faith with our family and our community. Our goal is to provide opportunities to strengthen these bonds of faith, through Jesus, engaging the young and old.

Mission Outreach: Cares for the relationships and partnerships Zion holds with local community social ministries as well as our International ELCA supported missionaries.

Social Concerns: Seeks to meet the needs of individuals, families and groups within our church and community. Our team focuses on meeting basic human needs. Projects include: Breakfast Bags, Christmas Giving Tree, Food Shelf support and our monthly Share A Meal. All in the name of Christ!

Child Care: Kids of the Kingdom is a long-standing mission ministry of Zion. The Child Care Team works with the director to engage in Christian education, connect the people of Zion with the child care children and oversee this vital identity of Zion.

Properties: Works throughout the year on tasks that involve the overall appearance and functions of the church building and properties. We coordinate with staff on the cleaning and daily maintenance of the church building. We work on general use guidelines for the church properties. We make sure the church is protected against loss or damage from whatever comes about. Property team members are involved in some of the projects around the church were our skills allow us. Other larger projects are hired out but still supervised by team members.

Lay Ministry/Evangelism: Prays for and encourages the pastors and other spiritual leaders. Organizes and engages volunteers to assist in the service and ministry of the church in order to make these experiences more meaningful, engaging and accessible to all.

Parish Life, Health and Fellowship: Creates opportunities that foster fellowship and promote relationships. Works with the Meeker Area ELCA Coop

Stewardship: Walks with the congregation in Biblical stewardship, developing each one’s relationship to time, talent and treasure. This team also manages our financial resources.

Technology Team: Strives to enhance ministry by overseeing sound, visual and online communication efforts.
